WaterWarmth

In this project, we will explore the potential of utilizing the River Leie as a heat source to efficiently and intelligently warm future buildings of Howest and the city of Kortrijk.                                                                                                  

CoT - EMS DOE

For cities, keeping the energy bill affordable is a challenge. Howest is assisting Kortrijk city in this regard. Through pilot projects in Kortrijk Weide and Transfo Zwevegem, the Smart Technology Energy lab is developing a data architecture for smart control of energy systems. 

PROFLEX

This project proposal aims to enable an affordable energy transition for low-voltage customers in a broader area, such as a neighborhood.                                                                                                                                               

Offshore for Sure

During the Offshore for Sure (O4S) project, innovative energy solutions are being developed. Thanks to its expertise in cybersecurity, Howest contributes to the design of smart and secure maintenance systems. Additionally, Howest will serve as an educational partner.             

I-READ IN VET

Reading comprehension is a crucial skill for students. The primary objective of this project is to enhance the reading proficiency and enjoyment of students in vocational-oriented programs. To encourage them to read more, the Close Reading methodology will be employed.           

Lerend Netwerk XR

It is well-known that the use of XR leads to better student outcomes and that the technology can better support the learning process. Thanks to XR, students can safely practice situations that would otherwise be difficult or impossible due to financial or safety reasons.         

Art-Ie

The project 'Artificial Intelligence Inspiration' (Art-Ie) aims to strengthen the cross-border region of Flanders-Netherlands in the field of digital innovation, with a focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI).                                                                         

ERGO XR

The objective is to create a Mixed Reality application that instructs students in proper and scientifically substantiated techniques for lifting and hoisting.                                                                                                                          

AI-UPD8

With AI-UPD8, the Howest research groups DAE Research and Business and Media want to be and remain a living knowledge and expertise center for every Flemish SME that has questions about generative AI, wants to be inspired or needs guidance on implementation.                      

GAICIA

How can we protect industrial networks from cyberattacks by using artificial intelligence to predict hackers' behavior? GAICIA (Utilizing Behavior-Based Artificial Intelligence Against Cyber-Industrial Attacks) seeks to answer this question during this research.
