BiKC infrastructuur

Many universities, laboratories, and businesses lack the knowledge, expertise, or resources to hire a full-time bioinformatician. The Bioinformatics Knowledge Center (BiKC) addresses this need through practical research and services.                                               

ISOC infrastructuur

Howest is establishing an Integrated Security Operations Center (ISOC). An ISOC is an extension of the more familiar SOC (Security Operations Center, the physical location of an information security team).

The coordination of the Flemish Steering Group - Cybersecurity Support Policy is assigned to KUL and Howest. This aligns with the implementation of the Flemish Cybersecurity Policy Plan Part 3, encompassing communication programs and training initiatives.

This project focuses on digital transformation in government. How can we enhance, expedite, and innovate public services to citizens through new technologies?                                                                                                                          

IVART

The clinical (pediatric) ophthalmic practice is confronted daily with the limitations of available visual assessment and rehabilitation tools. Ophthalmologists consistently face challenges in obtaining reliable results from vision tests in children.                               

ICIL 4_0

The main focus of this project is to create general awareness within the Flemish industry and logistics sectors about the real risks related to cybersecurity. The goal is to activate this target audience to enhance their cybersecurity capacity.                                    

Be-Mobile

The MCT/STAR lab research group of Howest will subcontract with Be-Mobile to investigate and develop possible Android and iOS smartphone applications aimed at ergonomic use by pedestrians and cyclists (active road users).                                                           

Pendelfonds

The commuting system needs to be more sustainable. The proportion of cycling and public transport in commuting needs to increase. To achieve these objectives, the Commuting Fund has been established.The Commuting Fund will undertake various actions to attain these goals:         

5G-Pilot HealthCare

Through the deployment of a high-quality 5G network, the Westhoek becomes a true smart region. This aligns with the objectives of the integrated economic regional vision of the Westhoek, 'The Westhoek Impulse Plan.'
