P5 Uganda There is a high unemployment rate among young people in Uganda (83%, UBOS 2018). This is due to a significant skills gap and school dropouts. Many graduates (bachelors and masters) also struggle to find jobs due to limited skills. SDGENERATION Schools are increasingly engaging in sustainable initiatives. To showcase these efforts and provide schools with guidance in navigating the multitude of sustainability aspects, the North-South department of Bruges aims to support them through the SDGeneration platform. AHUMAIN The technological revolution is progressing so rapidly that we witness new applications every day. Two key innovations transforming the world around us are the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). XR in de realiteit Many schools have the ambition to implement Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), or overarching eXtended Reality (XR) in their offerings. Especially for students for whom skill training is a core task, XR applications can add value. BiKC infrastructuur Many universities, laboratories, and businesses lack the knowledge, expertise, or resources to hire a full-time bioinformatician. The Bioinformatics Knowledge Center (BiKC) addresses this need through practical research and services. ISOC infrastructuur Howest is establishing an Integrated Security Operations Center (ISOC). An ISOC is an extension of the more familiar SOC (Security Operations Center, the physical location of an information security team). VlaamseStuurgroep CS The coordination of the Flemish Steering Group - Cybersecurity Support Policy is assigned to KUL and Howest. This aligns with the implementation of the Flemish Cybersecurity Policy Plan Part 3, encompassing communication programs and training initiatives. Satellietenmodel WH With this project, we aim to foster a culture of learning and enthusiasm for learning in the Westhoek region. Howest acts as a knowledge partner in defining a matrix with LLL formats and, together with Syntra, will shape a learning network involving businesses. NLAB4CIT This project focuses on digital transformation in government. How can we enhance, expedite, and innovate public services to citizens through new technologies? IVART The clinical (pediatric) ophthalmic practice is confronted daily with the limitations of available visual assessment and rehabilitation tools. Ophthalmologists consistently face challenges in obtaining reliable results from vision tests in children.
