XR in de realiteit

Many schools have the ambition to implement Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), or overarching eXtended Reality (XR) in their offerings. Especially for students for whom skill training is a core task, XR applications can add value. The ever-expanding array of devices and applications, however, poses a challenge for many schools, primarily stumbling over the practical implementation in the classroom context.

This need led to a consortium of 10 schools that turned to Howest to guide them as a process facilitator in their research project. Specifically, practical organizational experiences, success stories, and pitfalls will be compiled, and the researcher will map out the technical tools used.

This project aims to support participating teachers in the realm of XR applications in their teaching practices and, through the research findings, provide assistance to teachers in A-fin schools (outside the consortium) grappling with similar obstacles and questions.
