The technological revolution is progressing so rapidly that we witness new applications every day. Two key innovations transforming the world around us are the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). While IoT generates sensor data, AI helps interpret this bulk of data in an understandable way and base semi-automatic decisions upon it. The global competitive landscape becomes evident for those investing significantly in fostering collaboration between government, businesses, and academic research in this sector.

Several initiatives exist in African countries, but the real challenge lies in encouraging major African companies to utilize AI for their business processes. The African AI ecosystem needs to position itself as an appealing partner for global digital giants eager to enter the African market. Therefore, the goal of the AHUMAIN project is to integrate IoT and AI specializations into a coherent curriculum tailored to the East African context.
