Digital transformation is changing the way research and data collection are conducted. However, survey methodology, a crucial tool in social sciences, business, and policy research, often remains theoretical and not very interactive. Students and professionals often lack practical experience in designing, conducting, and analyzing surveys. Traditional teaching methods fail to teach these essential skills in an engaging and effective way. The SHERLOCK project is researching and developing an innovative digital learning environment that teaches survey methodology through a serious game. This platform integrates AI-supported feedback and real-world case studies to equip students and young professionals with practical skills. The project is creating an interactive learning environment where users work in international teams on realistic survey assignments. A consortium of six European universities from France, Poland, Belgium, Romania, Switzerland, and Spain, and Sphinx, a leading survey software company, are responsible for the development and implementation. The SHERLOCK project will better prepare students and professionals for data-driven decision-making and the critical analysis of survey results. The project contributes to innovative educational practices and international collaboration in higher education. After completion, the platform will continue to be managed within academic networks and the industry, ensuring a sustainable impact.
