REMOTE COACHING

In this project, we are exploring the possibility of developing a virtual movement platform where movements are felt 'real' in real-time. There is a high dropout rate when individuals are asked to follow an exercise program alone or remotely after an initial start with a coach.

Engaging in more/better physical activity improves health, leading to reduced healthcare costs and enhanced work performance, making it economically beneficial. However, there is a high dropout rate when individuals are asked to follow an exercise program alone or remotely after an initial start with a coach.

From a motivational perspective, it is interesting to bring people together more often with a personal coach or in group activities. Exercising together satisfies the three basic needs (autonomy, relatedness, and competence) that are essential for maintaining physical activity in the long run. However, this solution requires significant time and financial investments, creating a barrier for many individuals to engage in regular physical activity.

To address this, we aim to develop a technological solution: a virtual movement platform where people can exercise under guidance in real-time in their private settings or engage in group activities without the hassle of commuting.
