Why participate?

This is more than just a visit; it's a chance to:

Showcase your institution

Present your university's unique strengths to Howest students who are eager for study abroad and internship opportunities.

Engage with students

Interact directly with our creative and tech-savvy students during workshops and our dynamic hackathon.

Connect and collaborate

Network with international peers, share educational best practices, and spark ideas for future joint projects.

Experience Belgian hospitality

Discover the historic charm of Bruges and the innovative spirit of Kortrijk with guided city tours and social events.

Share your expertise: a call for workshops

The heart of our International Week is the knowledge you share. We invite you to host a hands-on, 2-hour workshop for our first-year IT Bachelor and/or Associate Degree students (IoT, Webdesign, full stack, software development, Cyber security, AI, XR). This is your stage to give our students a taste of your institution's unique teaching style.

We are looking for 10 interactive sessions on a variety of topics for IT students, for example:

  • Technical skills: An introduction to Flutter, a primer on Ethical Hacking, a crash course in a programming language (Rust, Mojo, …)
  • International soft skills: Workshops on cross-cultural communication, pitching ideas to a global audience, or building confidence in English.
  • A unique cultural skill: Teach a session on anything from Japanese calligraphy to the principles of Italian design.

For our partners in the Netherlands and other Dutch-speaking regions, we also warmly welcome workshop proposals in Dutch to connect with our local student community.

Looking for the perfect keynote speaker

Have a compelling topic to share? Propose a 45-minute keynote session to inspire a larger audience.
