At Howest, we believe in the talent of our students and are happy to put them in the spotlight. This is evident in a special project with Bpost, for which students from our Digital Arts & Entertainment (DAE) programme designed a series of unique stamps.

Two of the five stamps even contain a QR code that links to an animated film, created entirely by our students. A creative mix of technology and design, entirely in the style of Howest!

From design competition to stamp in your hands

When Bpost asked us to create innovative stamp designs, we gave our students carte blanche. Through an internal competition, all DAE students were given the opportunity to showcase their creativity. Some worked solo, others in teams. Ultimately, three individual designs and two group projects by final-year students were selected.

Finn Bogaert, one of the winning students, drew his inspiration from science fiction films such as Star Wars. “It's great to see my design actually on a stamp now,” he says enthusiastically. “You put so much time and passion into it, and then you see the result in real life—it's an incredible feeling!”

Proud of Howest talent

DAE Academic Director Regis Le Roy is particularly proud of the project. “We could have given this assignment to experienced professionals, but we believe in our students. This project proves that they are already capable of delivering work that is recognized at the national level. And what could be better than seeing your creativity circulating on a stamp that may even travel around the world?”

The stamps perfectly reflect the diversity within our DAE program. From an enchanting fairy-tale landscape to the high-tech workspace of a spaceship, each design showcases the unique style and imagination of our students. Thanks to the QR codes, collectors and postal enthusiasts get both a beautiful design and access to exclusive animated videos.
