OverHoop is a project of the King Baudouin Foundation commissioned by the Flemish government, aimed at providing primary actors with support to address developmental trauma through targeted collaboration and effective methods and interventions, from prevention to recovery. Children's development is significantly influenced by their daily experiences. While positive experiences can have a beneficial impact, the accumulation of negative experiences can lead to disruptions in the stress system and hinder children's development. Prevention and temporary external assistance are necessary to prevent developmental trauma in children.Coaching and Support ProgramOverHoop aims to provide primary actors with the support to independently engage in targeted collaboration and employ effective methods and interventions related to developmental trauma, from prevention to recovery. To achieve this objective, OverHoop can rely on the help of professional and informal actors in Flanders, including the expertise and support from the Applied Psychology program at Howest. In this context, Applied Psychology will provide services in the form of a coaching and support program for 10 primary care zones. In addition to service delivery, knowledge will also be built on how to shape this coaching and support program. By strengthening primary actors in the signaling, detection, prevention, and management of developmental trauma, this project aims to contribute to the well-being and positive development of children in the long term.
