You can choose to minor in Design for Impact in the fourth semester of the Bachelor of Industrial Product Design. The focus is on the context of people and society.

Bachelor Teacher Training: Secondary Education Do you have a talent for stimulating young people between 12 and 18 years old? Are you longing to stand in front of a class? Do you see it as a challenge to contribute to the cognitive and social development of your pupils?

In this course students will learn about the impact on social transformation and cultural identity when vulnerable people move from one geographical location to another, circumstances in which human rights may be violated and sources of support and protection.

The English-taught semester on migration and refugees takes place in autumn as a block course with a wide range of modules. The modules include lectures, field trips, group works, testimonies of experts from the field and contact with people displaced due to conflict, war and persecution.

The English-taught semester in the teacher training department is meant for students in education departments with a bachelor’s or master’s degree. At Howest, we train teachers to teach in nursery schools, primary schools and the lower years of secondary schools (from 2,5 to 16-year olds).
