Conditions
We use some general conditions to be accepted:
- You have a big interest in hands-on prototyping (design by prototyping)
- You are English-speaking: we expect you to have a good English level as class interaction,
communication, participation and the understanding of lectures are all equally important.
Application process
Step 1
First complete the online application form (deadline 20th of July). The number of
participants is restricted in order to keep all workshops highly interactive. We
select our students on a first come, first served basis. Please pay special attention
to your motivation. In order to secure your participation, we advise you to submit
your application as soon as possible. If you have troubles to fill out the application
form, please contact becky.verthe@howest.be.
Step 2
You’ll receive an automatic e-mail to confirm that your application is entered successfully.
Step 3
Please deposit 550 € on Howest’s bank account 001-2651690-77 with a reference “summer
school 2012 + NAME + COUNTRY”.

IMPORTANT FOR INTERNATIONAL PARTICIPANTS – use the IBAN code in order to transfer
the amount free of charge.
Please note that your admission to the course will ONLY be ensured once you have
paid the registration fee in full. If we do not receive a credit card payment or
copy of the bank transfer within 2 weeks of entry of your application, we can give
your seat to someone else. Your application will, however, remain in our database
and, if there are still spaces available, you may renew your registration simply
by contacting us.
Step 4
On receipt of your payment, a final confirmation of your seat in the summer school
will be sent by e-mail. Your subscription is then complete and valid.
Cancellation
If you have been accepted for the summer school, paid the fee and then have to cancel
your participation due to external causes or because your visa process has been
rejected, we will apply the following cancellation policy:
- if you cancel before the 10th of July 2012 - we will refund 100% of the fee paid
minus the transfer cost.
- if you cancel after the 10th of July 2012 - we will refund 70% of the fee paid minus
the transfer cost.
Visa Requirements
A short period international visit usually doesn’t require special permits, but
visa requirements differ between countries. An official invitation letter from our
international office might facilitate your visa arrangement. Call us if you need
assistance.
