From December 1st – 4th, the Bruges Conference welcomed formal delegations from 18 different European countries.

During the conference, the seven topics of the memorandum were discussed. The draft version of the memorandum was the starting point for these discussions. Every session ended with the approval of the text, that –when necessary- had been re-worded, based on the outcome of the discussions.

The final result of this conference is a text, approved by all delegations present, that wants to inspire the Leuven/Louvain-la-Neuve Communiqué in April 2009.
